There is an ancient Chinese proverb, "If
all your learning come from books, you are more often wrong
than you are right". Keeping this philosophy in mind
Erudition -- the Annual Convention of Department of Commerce
is one of the activities by which we ensure that learning
is not restricted to the classroom.
This year’s theme - “Alchemists at Work –
Transforming the Future” is especially chosen to bring
into light the strategies adopted by the visionaries to transform
the way things are done and will be done so that we can imagine
an all new world in a near future. It is a recognized fact
that organizations of tomorrow would be a confluence of complexity,
discontinuity, turbulence and would operate under radical
change. This would be characterized by tectonic shifts leading
to unprecedented ambiguities and uncertainties. Needless to
say these powerful forces will alter the paradigms of transacting
business and managing change.
