“Learning is more important than knowing. For while
knowledge defines all we currently
know and understand, learning points to all we might
yet discover and create.” -Albert
Einstein
MHROD and MIB, Department of Commerce, Delhi School of
Economics, bring Einstein’s philosophy to practice through
Erudition – its Annual Convention. Erudition’08 is the
13th Annual Convention and the 1st
International Convention of the Department of Commerce.
This year’s theme “Convergence of the Titans: Creating
Global Partnerships” has been chosen to highlight the
worldwide phenomenon of synergistic business partnerships
and changing dynamics of the world order. International
developments witnessed today stand testimony to the era of
collaborations that go beyond the boundaries of
organizations. In today’s global village, organizations
will be required to function on a pandemic scale.
Developments in information technology, mass media,
demographic and environment changes and the free flow of
human resources across borders have revolutionized the world
scenario. The plethora of structural changes thus catalyzed
makes global partnerships with local perspectives the order
of the day.
There is a growing appreciation of interdependencies and
inter-linkages required for mutual success. Organizations
have recognized that in order to keep pace with the velocity
of change and to thrive in this new scenario, cooperative
competition is the way forward. To do so, they need to
converge with the goal of shared responsibilities and for
developing synergies. It is imperative to build, develop and
sustain global partnerships.
Erudition’08 seeks to provide a platform to
visionaries and thought leaders to share their ideas,
experiences and perspectives on the changing factors shaping
the way we do business.
